Product Information
Zendrive SDK
Product Version
Version 9.2.0
OS Support
This version supports Android 13 and iOS 16.
Release Date
June 15, 2023
iOS cherrypick SDK v9.2.1 was released with improved collision detector model on August 10, 2023.
Zendrive SDK v9.2.0 includes the following new features and upgrades:
1. Capture Battery Optimisation Status (for Android)
Description: Zendrive SDK v9.2.1 captures battery optimization status as part of the SDK Health Packet (for Android).
Explanation: The battery optimization flag will not affect any other heartbeat logic, such as overall heartbeat status (for example, Red, Yellow, or Green).
Benefit: This status indicator helps application developers to identify users that haven’t turned off their application’s battery optimization.
2. New DvP Population Model On the Edge
Description: Zendrive SDK v9.2.1 contains a new Driver Vs. Passenger (DvP) population model that can generate DvP verdicts during trip processing (minus server calls).
Explanation: This model will be used for DvP predictions for data sent to IQL advertisers.
Benefit: The new DvP Population Model (DvP v4) aims for a 75% accuracy across a variety of applications, particularly targeted toward stable performance across US publishers.
3. New resume
SDK API (for iOS)
resume
SDK API (for iOS)Description: We have provided a convenient method to set up Zendrive SDK after the initial set up.
Explanation: This is a convenience API that can be called multiple times, using the parameters from the Zendrive SDK setup
API.
Benefit: Allows a quick way to set up and start Zendrive SDK multiple times after the initial set up.
4. Distracted Driving Enhancements
Description: Changes have been made to the distracted driving event detectors in order to more closely match the ground truth labels.
Explanation: The changes made to distracted driving detectors are as follows:
A minimum event threshold of 10 seconds, aimed at reducing spurious passive distraction events. This minimum event duration applies to all distracted driving events.
Distracted driving events are now mutually exclusive with the following priority order for detection:
Hand-held phone calls
Hands-free phone calls
Active distraction
Passive distraction
Additional logic has been implemented to correctly identify the hands-free and hand-held portions of a continuous phone call event.
Benefit: The existing telematics APIs and event types, and bit mappings are left unchanged. Therefore, there will be no need to perform any additional integration to accommodate the changes made to the Distracted Driving Detectors.
5. iOS Invalid Trip Improvement
Description: Trips exceeding 1 km will be marked invalid if the verdict from both activity and GPS is negative.
Explanation: In previous SDK versions, we relied solely on activity data which resulted in the recording of invalid trips.
Benefit: More accurate trip information minus invalid trips.
6. Improved Collision Detection Support for Low-end Android Devices
Description: We have improved collision-detection coverage for low-end Android devices that do not have software gravity sensors.
Explanation: With this update, the collision-detection algorithm can run even where the OEM model does not have a software gravity sensor.
Benefit: By incorporating gravity computation, we have increased Zendrive SDK’s robustness, and reduced redundancy.
